ABOUT US
JERSEYSTEM is a grassroots 501(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (“STEM”) education to pre-teen and teenage girls and underserved children in New Jersey.
We partner with socially responsible companies and their employees, youth organizations in underserved communities, and civic-minded college students and universities.
Together we develop and deliver innovative, hands-on, and online afterschool projects and inquiry-based learning opportunities that develop teamwork, 21st-century problem-solving skills, and self-esteem.
Our Mission

Bridge the innovation gap in STEM education by introducing novel formats for teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math;

Loretta Manubag, CPA, MBA is an accomplished Senior Executive and Thought Leader with more than 30 years of success across the Telecommunications and Banking industries.
Loretta has held leadership positions in Finance, Accounting and Mergers & Acquisitions with Verizon and PNC Bank.
NORA MELGAREJO

Local Program
Nora Melgarejo has 15+ years of enterprise account management experience working with companies in advertising, health care and IT consulting industries. She is passionate about STEM education for students and currently leading JERSEYSTEM local programs in Chatham, NJ area. Nora’s focus is to research and create programs, coordinate curriculum development, recruit local coaches and students. Her goal is to provide a safe environment for the students to learn and experiment technology and innovation, build resilience and confidence.
HEATHER ZULAWSKI

Development
Heather has 17+ years experience in telecommunications with the majority of her experience at Comcast’s headquarters in Philadelphia. Heather has led both Business to Business and Business to Consumer Sales, Retention, Operations, Lifecycle Marketing & Analytics organizations. She lives with her husband and two children in Southern New Jersey.
Heather has her B.A. in Interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin, Green Bay.
