Celebrate International Women's Day and
Support Gender Equity in STEM
International Women's Day is a day to celebrate the achievements of women and to reflect on the progress that we have made towards gender equality. However, there is still a long way to go, especially in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Women and girls are significantly underrepresented in these fields
Women make up only 28% of the STEM workforce. Equality in subjects like computer science has been declining

JerseySTEM promotes STEM gender equity
JerseySTEM programs in underserved middle schools have been pushing back against STEM gender inequity since 2013. Our pro bono after-school software coding and robotics programs develop problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. We believe that every woman and girl should pursue her dreams and reach her full potential.
74% of middle school girls are interested in STEM-related fields, but only 20% are prepared for college-level STEM programs

How your organization can help
Your donations to JerseySTEM will fund scholarships, mentorship programs, workshops, and other initiatives that promote gender equity in STEM fields, but there are other ways to contribute. We need volunteers to staff and guide development of future JerseySTEM programs. Spread the word about JerseySTEM throughout your organization.
Low-income students from underrepresented communities tend to fall behind their peers by about 6,000 learning hours

Join us in celebrating International Women's Day and supporting gender equity in STEM. Your support of JerseySTEM will make a real difference in the lives of women and girls around the world. Together, we can create a society where every woman and girl has the opportunity to reach the heights that their talents will take them.
